Druide informatique is pleased to announce the rollout of a new version of Typing Pal – School Edition, its web-based typing tutorial application for educational institutions. Its most important new features this year include new tools to help teachers guide their students.
A dynamic dashboard allows teachers to observe their class’s activities in real time. For example, they can make sure that all their students are logged in and that they are doing the right exercise. An attendance calendar allows teachers to evaluate their students’ participation at a glance thanks to red dots that increase in size the more a student uses Typing Pal. Teachers can also generate summary reports that show each student’s attendance and performance and share it with their parents. Another improvement is the inclusion of comprehensive pedagogical resources that provide teachers with the necessary tools to successfully guide their students. They include a start-up guide, articles on methodology and a variety of worksheets.
The content of this new version is second to none. The exercises and tests for rare characters are more balanced, allowing students to more easily learn characters that can be difficult to type. The statistics are even more detailed thanks to data on improvement activities and games, meaning that all time spent on Typing Pal is now taken into account.
The certificates of achievement given to students who have completed the program now display their speed and accuracy and teachers can bulk export them for all the students in their groups. Finally, a new global search field allows users to easily find a student, teacher or school by entering the first letters of their name.
Educational institutions with Typing Pal subscriptions can enjoy these new features as of today, since they have just been rolled out globally.
