Initial Test (Optional)
The initial test acts as an benchmark against which you can measure your students’ progress at the end of the training program by comparing the results with those achieved on the final test. Since both tests are identical, they provide an accurate indication of how much your students’ typing skills have improved over time.
As such, we recommend that you ask your students to complete the test, even if they haven’t yet learned the proper typing technique. Note that the initial test can only be completed once.
However, completing the initial test is not required to begin working on other activities. If you find that your students struggle to finish the test, they can still begin their training without it—just start them on the first exercise instead.
